MoE given 5 years to impose 'segregation' in private schools
KUWAIT : The Educational Affairs Committee at the Parliament has given the Ministry of Education a grace period of five years to implement the Segregation Law in foreign private schools, reliable sources told Al-Anba. In a meeting held Wednesday, the committee assured Education Ministry Undersecretary Ali Al-Barak and Private Education Department Director Mohammed Al-Dahis that five-year grace period is enough for the Ministry to fully prepare for the implementation of the law.
Sources added the same period is also given to the Ministry to allocate separate buildings for each educational level but Al-Barak said it is not easy to allocate separate buildings for each educational level due to the limited areas in most schools.
The committee has also proposed the inclusion of a main article to the Private Education Law on the segregation of students in foreign private schools prior to the approval of the law.
Meanwhile, sources revealed male and female teachers work together only in 14 out of 130 primary schools under the Ministry.
I hope the Kuwaiti Youth tries to do something about this! Another two steps backwards!!!
Is the next step going to make us into the next Saudi Arabia? I certainly hope not!

holy shit what the fuzz is NOT wrong with our country??
Why are you sad? This is coming from the parliament, whose members are elected by Kuwaiti citizens.
You, and everyone who is against segregation, are a tiny minority, who think they are *elite* but are not worth much when it comes to political power.
Hmm.. Anonymous.. "we are sad" because its freedom of choice.. first of all.. this new law will not make things better.. now, you have the choice to choose which school u want your children to go to.. public, private segregated, or coed. So by implying this new law you are going to wipe out freedom! the whole idea of the parliament is not to solve simple issues as "segregation in schools". The parliament has a more important duty . Today they will segregate schools, tomorrow women will not drive in kuwait, after ten years every women must wear a hijab, and after 20 years every man should grow a beard.
Why are u with this law? is coed school making your life miserable? is it effecting your morals and cultural believes? I dont think so, u know why ? because U HAVE THE CHOICE ! AND BY PASSING SUCH LAWS, U R PROOFING THAT U ARE AGAINST FREEDOMS... ITS NOT THE PARLIAMENT THAT KNOWS WHATS BETTER FOR ME AND MY CHILDREN.. THEY DONT HAVE THE RIGHT TO GOVERN MY OWN INDIVIDUAL LIFE.. WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN US AND COMMUNISTS THEN? HUH? DO U REALLY WANT TO CONVINCE ME THAT MP WILL TEACH ME MY TRADITIONS AND BELIEVES? Believe me.. 70% of the MPs needs some one to teach them ethics and morals.. coed schools have been in kuwait for more than 30 yrs.. and nobody ever mentioned them at the Majlis. do u know why they are bringing this topic right now? to show off their political power and that they can control the people's own decisions. So if it is okay with u to be controlled by some MPs then find another place to live in.. ie: Saudi Arabia.. :) U JUST RUINED MY DAY .. @#$! U :)
